At the beginning of the new week, the Alpine region will be situated between a low-pressure system over the Mediterranean and a high-pressure system near the British Isles, bringing a lively easterly airflow. This will direct early-winter cold and initially quite moist air masses toward us. As a result, both Monday and Tuesday will feature mostly overcast, high fog-like cloud cover, with light snowfall expected, especially on Monday. By Tuesday, precipitation will largely cease, but the high fog-like cloud cover will only slowly break up, starting from the mountains. By midweek, however, increasingly bright sunshine is likely to prevail as the high-pressure system near the British Isles extends over Central Europe. At the same time, temperatures will become milder. During the second half of the week, this late-autumn mild trend in temperatures will persist as we transition into a foehn-like southerly airflow. However, from the current perspective, no significant weather change is expected to develop from this situation.
