From Sölden/church a steeply ascending path takes you up to the hamlet of Grünwald. There you follow the precipitous forest trail to the Hochsölden federal road until you reach the turn-off to Gampe Alm. Via lovely Gampe Alm you walk southwards along the signposted and slightly ascending trail which leads to Hühnersteig'n.

Turn-by-turn directions

Variant 1: Walk from Sölden past the church into the hamlet of Grünwald, continue on the somewhat steeper forest path onto the road that leads to Hochsölden, to the Gampe Alm junction. Continue over the Gampe Alm south to the marked path, slightly uphill to the chicken crate.

Variant 2: leisurely from Hochsölden via the Höhenweg to Hühnersteign. Walking time approx. 45 minutes

Variant 3: from the middle station of the Gaislachkogl cable gondola to the Hühnersteign in about 45 minutes

Public transport

Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is thetrain station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our localtaxi companies through the valley to your desired destination. Getting there

The car drive to the Ötztal valley. Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the longest side valley in the Eastern Alps. The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the entrance of the valley and further on through the valley. Among the toll motorways you can also use the country roads.
