The first stage of the Ötztal Cycling Path (52 km) starts in Haiming and ends in Oetz. About 14 km long, this stage is perfect to explore the diversity of lower Ötztal.

The cycle path starts in the center of Haiming and leads via the hamlets of Magerbach and Schlierenzau to Ötztal Bahnhof where the route runs several hundred meters parallel to the railway tracks and bends southwards at the height of ​​Area 47. Along the rushing Ötztaler Ache brook you cycle to Oetz.

Author’s recommendation

We strongly recommend to follow the route of the Ötztal Cycle Trail, otherwise you have to follow longer stretches on the busy Ötztal federal road.

BIKE-VERHALTENSREGELN 

  1. Fahre stets rechts, mit kontrollierter Geschwindigkeit und wenn notwendig auf halbe Sicht, besonders bei Engstellen und engen Kurven, da jederzeit mit Gegenverkehr oder Hindernissen zu rechnen ist (z.B. Poller, Schranken, Steine, Äste, Weideroste, andere Fahrzeuge).
  2. Beachte, dass die benützten Straßen und Wege in ihrer Funktion meist einer Mischnutzung unterliegen und daher jederzeit Behinderungen auftreten können (z.B. land- und forstwirtschaftliche Fahrzeuge, Fahrzeuge von Berechtigten, zwischengelagertes Holz, Weidevieh).
  3. Nimm Rücksicht insbesondere auf FußgängerInnen und andere RadfahrerInnen, überhole nur im Schritttempo.
  4. Nimm Rücksicht auf den technischen und konditionellen Schwierigkeitsgrad auf deiner Radtour und schätze deine Erfahrungen und dein Können als RadfahrerIn genau ein (für Rad- bzw. e-Bike-Einsteiger empfiehlt sich ggf. ein Fahrsicherheitstraining.)
  5. Schütze deinen Kopf durch einen Helm und kontrolliere die Ausrüstung vor Antritt jeder Radtour (Bremsen, Klingel, Licht, Rückstrahler, etc.).
  6. Halte dich an Fahrverbote und Absperrungen. Schließe die Weidegatter.
  7. Nimm Rücksicht auf Tier und Natur und verzichte auf das Fahren abseits der für den Radverkehr geöffneten Straßen und Wege.
  8. Hinterlasse keine Abfälle.
  9. Auf Radwegen sind lt. StVO nur e-Bikes/Pedelecs mit einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 25 km/h zulässig.
