Safety Update Ötztaler 2021

The motto “All for one and one for all” applies to all cyclists for a safe participation in the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon 2021.

Arrival journey to Sölden: only those who really feel healthy

In order to keep the risk for all athletes and their companions as well as for our employees as low as possible, we kindly ask all participants to travel to Sölden only if they are healthy and do not show any symptoms regarding the coronavirus. In the event of false information, we reserve the right to exclude participants from the race – even on site.

Mandatory must-have rule: Participation only if you are vaccinated, recovered or tested

All participants and all assistants and volunteers of the 40th Ötztaler Cycle Marathon are subject to the must-have rule (vaccinated, recovered or tested). This is also valid within the entire finish area on Sunday.

Test station Giggijochbahn mountain railway

As part of the Ötztaler there is a specially set up antigen test station. The tests are free of charge, but you need to register in advance via https://tiroltestet.leitstelle.tirol/.

Opening hours:

  • Friday, 27.08.2021 08.00 am – noon & 01.00 pm – 06.00 pm
  • Saturday, 28.08.2021 08.00 am – noon & 01.00 pm – 08.00 pm
  • Sunday, 29.08.2021 09.00 am – noon & 01.00 pm – 06.00 pm

Nose and mouth cover compulsory in the indoor area

When handing out the starting documents and picking up the finisher jersey and the chip deposit, wearing a nose and mouth cover is an absolute must. The starter package pick up point is located in the sports hall of Freizeit Arena Sölden and has the following opening times:

  • Friday, 27 August 2021 from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
  • Saturday, 29 August 2021 from 9.00 am to 8:00 pm

Cyclists briefing, Saturday, 28 August, 7.30 pm: in your comfortable hotel room

The traditional cyclists briefing, with the latest information on weather conditions and the latest details on danger spots on the route, is broadcast as part of the Ötztaler Radmarathon TV online and can therefore be followed live anywhere (https://www.oetztaler-radmarathon.com/livestream).

Right behavior at the refreshment stations: with a little more distance and consideration for one another

Nose and mouth cover is mandatory at all refreshment stations, as well as at the starter package pick up in the sports hall. Each participant must therefore bring their own nose and mouth cover. All refreshment stations are one-way areas, consumption of food & drink directly at the distribution point is prohibited and it is not allowed to take your racing bike directly to the refreshment station either. These rules are controlled by security agents.

Pasta Party: outsourced to the catering businesses throughout Ötztal

There will be no Pasta Party in the sports hall in 2021. Instead, all participants receive a voucher worth € 12.00 on their start number, which can be redeemed in all restaurants throughout Ötztal.

Therefore, we are quite sure that we will experience an unforgettable Ötztaler Cycle Marathon in 2021 with a little more distance and consideration for one another.
