Important Information

Dear cycling friends, welcome to the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon 2019!

There are cycle marathons. And there is the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon. If you put your preparation of many months into practice together with just under 4000 other starters on Sunday, then the race will see already its 39th edition – covering 238 kilometers and 5500 altitude meters. This year‘s edition of the cycling classic is under the sign of the Alpine marmot. The Ibex was last year‘s symbol while this year “Marmota” takes over the sponsorship. Marmots live far above the timber line. They have learned to survive in very rough surroundings. That‘s what distinguishes them. Just like everyone who dares to participate in the Cycle Marathon. You too have to pace yourself in the barren heights beyond 2000 meters altitude. Probably also the marmots along the route will leave their den by cheering you on with their whistles. Enjoy this huge challenge for everyone involved. Participants, organizers and volunteers. We wish you an accident-free Ötztaler 2019 event and good luck in making your dream come true.
