The below listed mountain rank among the most beautiful peaks offering the most stunning views within the Ötztal Alps. No hiking guide is required for the selected mountain trails. Experience in Alpine walking tours, a good physical shape and appropriate hiking equipment are necessary!
KREUZSPITZE (3.457 m)
Kreuzspitze peak, one of the highest peaks within the Ötztal Alps, is a truly unique haven for high Alpine hikers. Without walking across glacier fields the hiker follows a well-marked path leading up to really scenic vantage points overlooking the surrounding mountain ranges and glacier areas.

from Martin Busch mountain hut (2.501 m): 2,5 hours, return 2 hours
from Vent (1.900 m): 5 hours, return 4 hours
SAYKOGEL MOUNTAIN (3,360m)
The crossing of Kreuzkamm ridge across Saykogel Mountain (3,360m) offers mountaineers the opportunity to get far into the glaciers near the main ridge. This summit is thus completely different from Kreuzspitze Mountain. Saykogel Mountain is, although almost completely surrounded by glaciers, accessible from Rofental valley and from Niedertal valley on a marked trail without glacier crossing. Still an ice axe should be in your luggage.

WILDES MANNLE (3.019 m)
An easy tour to the peak located next to Breslauer mountain hut. Simply follow a typical gravel path leading up to 3000 meters and higher. Enjoy the great view of both the Rofenferner glacier and the Wildspitze peak.

from Breslauer mountain hut (2.844 m): 1,5 hours, return 1,5 hours
from Vent (1.900 m): 4 hours, return 3 hours
NEDERKOGEL (3.163 m)
Nederkogl peak is Sölden's most famous landmark, towering high above the village, the valley and the Ötztaler Ache brook. The trail via Lenzenalm hut and Nederse lake climbs very steeply. But on top you are rewarded with stunning vistas of the 3000 meter high Ötztal and Stubaital Alps.

from main road (1.670 m): 4 hours, return 3 hours
SÖLDENKOGL (2.902 m)
The panoramic view of Sölden and the Ötzatl Alps is truly incredible if you are on top of Söldenkogl peak altough the ascent is very challenging. To make the tour easier and shorter you can take a taxi up to Kleble Alm mountain hut of to Fiegls Gasthaus inn.

from Sölden (1.370 m): 4 hours, return 3 hours
from Kleble-Alm hut (1.983 m): 3 hours, return 2 hours (taxi-service to Kleble-Alm)
from Fiegls Gasthaus inn (1.956 m): 3 hours, return 2 hours (taxi-service to Fiegls Gasthaus)
GRIESKOGL (2.911 m)
From Hochsölden you head to the top terminal of Rotkogel double chairlift along a gravel trail until you reach the footpath. The upper part of the trail is protected by steel ropes. Enjoy the wonderful Alpine scenery, especially the Geigenkamm mountain range as lovely backdrop. In the unspoilt Pollestal valley you may catch a glance of a passing chamoix or ibex.

SCHWARZKOGL (3.016 m)
The trail starts at Rotkogel mountain hut and continues via lake Schwarzsee (2799 m) to the summit cross (following the ski trail)

from Hochsölden (2.070 m): 3 hours, return 2 hours
from glacier road/silo (2.500 m): 1 1/4 hours, return 3/4 h
ROTKOGEL (2.947 m)
From Rotkogeljochhütte Hut (2,660m) one can get on top of Rotkogel Mountain (2,947m) on a well marked trail in about one hour. Alpine experience and sure-footedness are required. From the summit one enjoys a fantastic view of the mountains of the Stubai and Ötztal Alps. The view down to the crystal-clear Schwarzsee Lake is also impressive.

HANGERER MOUNTAIN (3,021m)
The hiking path to Hangerer Mountain leads through lush green meadows near Schönwieshütte hut and through rock-covered hills. 300m below the summit hikers cross a snow field. The ascent is worthwhile as you enjoy a fantastic view of the Ötztal Alps.
