CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Every cyclist over 19 years is eligible for the marathon, cyclists over 16 years are allowed to participate in the race upon presentation of a written confirmation of their parents when they pick up their starting number.
A medical check-up is strongly recommended.
By paying the entry fee participants accept all general rules and conditions of entry established by the event organizer.
The closing vehicle signs the end of the race. Cyclists who are behind the closing car are not considered as a part of the race and must pay special attention to oncoming traffic! It is possible to return to the race if the cyclist overtakes the closing car. The closing car will keep strictly to the control times at the respective checkpoints.
In bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances the organizer has the right to shorten the course and change the time limits.
The race directors are entitled to disqualify cyclists who do not respect the regulations. They are also allowed to suspend those participants who will not reach the checkpoints in time.
Cycle helmets are compulsory.
In case of danger the authorities have the right to cancel or interrupt the event.
With the registration all participants accept the following conditions:
- personal data, addresses and results are saved and processed via EDP systems
- name, year of birth, place of residence and team are published in the official start and result lists in the Internet, in newspapers and on public information boards
- the event organizer or his authorized partners are allowed to take pictures of all participants, to make films and TV recordings which can be published without restrictions or time limits
- the event organizer transmits address data to third parties and sponsors for advertising purposes
Participants who achieve a place on the winners rostrum in the single classes or in the overall ranking (both men and women), must start in the rist group. Contact the organizing committee via e-mail after receiving your start admission, so that the results can be checked. If participants do not keep to this regulation they are automatically assigned to the starting time of the first group, also during the race.
For the men's and women's overall rankings from 1-10 the order of pasing the finishing line will be relevant and not the race time. This regulation applies in the different classes for all rankings between 1 and 3.
Please note that doping controls can be made any time by the official NADA committee.
Every cyclist has to take with him a second inner tube.
Service cars, motorbikes or scooters which are not officially approved for the race course by the organizing committee also result in a disqualification.
The well-loved Ötztaler Finisher Shirt is given to all those who finish the entire marathon course correctly, pass all check points and reach the finishing area of Sölden in the predetermined time.
It is forbidden to participate in the cycle marathon with the bib number of another cyclist. Like any other violation of the rules established by the organizing committee, it will result in the immediate disqualification. Furthermore the cyclist will be suspended from the race for the following two years. According to Austrian Law this offence comes under forgery of documents.
English
